No nuts on board with EasyJet

EasyJet has announced that they are going to ban nuts during their flights. According to the new regulations made by the budget airline snacks including packets of nuts will not be available for purchase onboard. As well as food containing nuts will be removed from their offers.

Moreover, passengers will have to refrain from eating nuts on board in case a next to passenger suffers from any nut allergy and has informed the airline company of it.

The aim of the airline is to do their best to take care of passengers suffering from nut allergies and those suffering from anaphylaxis.

Prior to this, peanuts were on the menu during the flights. But according to the information pages on medical issues, it is stated that flight attendants will abstain from selling nuts supposing a passenger makes them aware of the allergy.

They are going to take further safety measures to require from their passengers not to consume nuts on board they may bring with them. Nevertheless, they make it clear that they cannot guarantee that all the passengers will stick to the restrictions.

It is obvious that it will be a challenge for them to put the new rules into action if passengers bring nuts with them even if they are asked not to. So, it is next to impossible to provide a nut free environment.

EasyJet giving a comment on their ban has noted that passengers are requested to notify them of nut allergy while booking a flight for the information to be passed to the flight attendants. Then cabin crew will not sell nuts on board.

Most airlines try to make precautions when there is a passenger who suffers from allergies. Some companies still have nuts on their menu but they have explanations on their medical pages.
