Newark International Airport resumes its work

An emergency situation happened at Newark International Airport. It led to flight delays.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) all the flights from Newark International Airport were grounded for a while on Sunday. It was due to a United Airlines plane landing.

United Airlines Flight 627 landed at 1 p.m. And then it skidded off the runway. It happened to be on the left side of the pavement and with its landing gear in the grass.

The plane took off from Denver International Airport carrying 163 passengers and landed at Newark International Airport experiencing flat tires. Luckily, no passengers suffered from serious injuries.

The airport is one of the busiest in the country. But after the incident it was banned to take off or land at the airport. The flights were diverted.

The passengers left the aircraft safely by stairs. And the busses took them to the airport terminal.

Flights from the airport were resumed at about 3 p.m. as soon as the plane was moved from the runway. Though some passengers still experience flight delays.

Passengers are notified about the necessity to call their carriers for more detailed information before heading for the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration is going to start an investigation. It is about to look into the matter to see what caused such a tough landing.
