American Airlines flight diverted due to spilt cleaning chemical

The flight operated by American Airlines was diverted and landed in Ireland. It was flying from London to Philadelphia. But the incident onboard took place. Cleaning chemicals leaked on board in the cabin. It was on October, 21.

According to the American Airlines representative flight number 729 scheduled to fly from London Heathrow to Philadelphia had to be diverted to Dublin. The decision was made under the following circumstance. There was a smell because of the cleaning solution spilt.

As a result of the spilled chemical the passengers started feeling sickness out of the blue. The passengers describe the smell as something very similar to fuel but a bit sweeter.

There was approximately an hour delay at Heathrow because an odd smell was suspected. But the plane took off eventually. Shortly after the departure the passengers started being off colour. Moreover, one crew member felt ill as well. She did not show obvious symptoms by herself. Though the other staff members congregated around her.

According to American Airlines’ comments they are looking into the case to define what exactly happened amid the flight. The plane landed safely in Dublin. The arrival time is 1.15 p.m. And medical workers were waiting for it to estimate the seriousness of passengers’ and crew members’ health conditions. And they were ready to provide the passengers with medical help.

Two crew members and a traveler were taken to hospital to have a check-up. The Dublin Airport representative has informed that the flight was diverted due to medical emergency.
