Airlines have the right not to let drunk passengers on board

According to the German court’s decision airlines are allowed not to let a drunk passenger onboard. The thing is the man from Germany filed a lawsuit against the airline company for refusing him and his wife to get on the plane. They were not allowed because of being drunk. But the German court has figured out the case in the way that airlines are not supposed to let drunk passengers get on their planes.

The passenger from Germany filed a lawsuit against Munich travel agency stating that he and his wife were not allowed to board the aircraft. They were going to fly from Australia to Dubai. It was going to be the first leg on their way back to Germany.

The couple was forced to look for alternative flights and they managed to book a new 1,750 euro flight for the following day. The passenger brought the case to court hoping to get his money back spent on the flight ticket. Moreover, he claimed for extra €600 as a compensation which he had lost in his professional field as a lawyer.

The Munich district court heard the case. And its ruling took into consideration the flight attendant’s testimonies. According to them the couple in question was unable to walk straight. Moreover, they asked for champaign without even taking their seats. There was a strong smell of alcohol. The woman burst into tears claiming not feeling well.

And in terms of their condition and behaviour the captain made a decision not to let them onboard. The evident provided was enough for the court to state that the travelers were in no condition to fly. Thus, the airline is not obliged to make up.
