Airbus to compete with Boeing

The Boeing 747 jumbo jet is known as the one which won the world’s market. But the demanding market and changing needs give a chance for its opponent company.

Airbus is going to produce an extended type of its single aisle A321 jet. It believes that travellers will choose flying leaner planes for quite long distance trips. They are supposed operate more than eight hour trips.

The brand new Airbus A321XLR is going to be suitable for joining, for instance, New York and Rome. The company will focus on producing this type of plane. So, JetBlue Airways announced in April that starting from 2021 it was going it for operating flights to London.

The company’s policy implies refusal from big planes giving preference to small ones. Airbus is about to stop producing its A380. It is the world’s largest passenger plane. The plans are predetermined by the fact that there is no necessity to use planes carrying 500 passengers. There is a demand for smaller aircraft.

Airbus is trying to take advantage of the crisis of its rival. Boeing is hit by crisis which is caused by grounding of its 737 Max planes. They are grounded due to two fatal crashes.

Airbus claims its new carriers will have seats for about 220 passengers in two cabins. The company believes the aircraft to be delivered in 2023.

Though small size of the plane may be good in terms of safety but still it will lead to certain restrictions. For example, passengers would have to carry smaller language onboard.
