Loading...Jaw-dropping and state-of-the-art Chinese international airport, second capital’s one, is ready to welcome its travellers and aircraft.
The construction of the spectacular airport started 5 years ago. And now, the project has been implemented. As a result. at 4.23 p.m. on September, 26 the first commercial flight took off from the world’s biggest and most modern airport at Daxing. It was flying from Beijing to Guangzhou.
It cost about US$11 billion to erect Beijing Daxing International Airport. The official opening ceremony took place on September, 26 in the morning. Moreover, the airport was introduced by the Chinese President. 16 airlines are going to operate at this hub. And China Southern Airlines is among them with 40% of slots at it.
Then six other flights followed. Some domestic airlines will operate at this airport starting from winter-spring season. According to the announcement by British Airways they are going to operate only from Daxing. While some other foreign airlines will fly to and from both airports.
The airport’s building has a futuristic shape. Thus, it resembles some kind of giant hexagonal starfish. Or some travellers call it an alien base. Not only the airport deals with more aircraft but passengers’ walks are lessened to a minimum.
There is a great recreational area with 70 restaurants, shops, coffee houses. International brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton are represented there as well.
Time travellers spend in the lines will be considerably reduced due to the use of facial recognition technology for self-service check-in and smart security checks. And thanks to the system there is no need for a paper boarding pass. A traveller can check in with or without luggage and go through the security system by themselves.
