Boeing starts paying $50M to families of fatal crashes victims

According to the announcement made by Boeing on Monday it is going to pay financial compensation to the families of the airplane crashes victims. The number of victims is more than 300 people. Families lost their beloved ones in fatal crashes of Flight 302 operated by Ethiopian Airways and Flight 610 operated by Lion Air.

Taking into account the investigation results the technical issue with the software in Boeing’s Max aircraft led to fatal consequences.

Starting from Monday the Boeing Financial Assistance Fund has decided that about $50 will be provided to the families of 346 victims in total. As they were the passengers of the flights which were operated by Boeing 737 Max.

The fatal crash with the Ethiopian airlines took place in March and the one with the Lion Air in October. So, the total sum of financial assistant is $50 million which is about $144,500 a victim of these tragedies. Moreover, the company will give $50 to provide education and economic support to the communities which suffered.

Thus, the company had to ground the operation of their Max planes around the world. As all the tragedies are connected with the faulty work of the flight control software called MCAS. It gave misleading information during the flights.

Boeing released a statement expressing sympathy to the families who lost their beloved ones in these tragedies.
