Delta flight with 200 passengers had an 18-hour delay at JKF

The flight operated by Delta carrying 200 passengers experienced an 18-hour delay before the departure. It was flying from New York, JFK airport to Los Angeles on August, 21.

It has been reported that flight DL975 was supposed to take off from New York at 3.30 p.m. but in fact, did it it only the following morning. The delay is explained to be due to some mechanical issue and weather conditions. Initially, the flight had an hour delay but finally it proved to be a long hour delay.

According to the passengers’ reports the situation was made even worse when Delta failed to provide an appropriate customer support and bad communication.

Some people took to Twitter to express their shock and dissatisfaction. The passengers were shocked to hear from a Delta gate agent that after an eight-hour delay they are not going to provide accommodation.

So, the passengers experienced a four-hour delay onboard and in total eight hours on the tarmac. Then they got to know that the flight is rescheduled for the next morning.

The passengers got on the plane on time. But the plane was delayed due to mechanical issue. Having had the mechanical issue solved, the plane was delayed due to bad weather conditions. Moreover, one of the pilots exceeded allowed number of working hours without having a rest.

According to Delta’s representative the delay was due to bad weather conditions. And Delta has provided their customers with water and snacks.
