Police handled fight on Delta 8-hour delayed flight at JFK

A fight broke out between travellers on a considerably delayed flight. The travellers had to experience an eight-hour delay onboard before the departure of their plane from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Miami.

Some passengers took to Twitter to complain about the situation they stuck in. According to their tweets, there was no food provided and cabin crew could offer nothing.

As Delta says, during the delay some passengers started fighting so the crew had to call Port Authority Police. The passengers started screaming and flight attendants together with police tried to calm them down. The situation was definitely not under control.

The passengers inform that in the beginning it was claimed to be a weather delay, then air traffic one, afterwards a refueling one. And the flight attendants seemed to know nothing about what was going on.

According to Delta reports police did not remove any passengers from the flight. They managed to handle the situation onboard. And a Delta representative says Flight 2385 experienced a delay due to weather conditions both in Miami and New York. And during the delay the passengers were provided with water and snacks. Moreover, they had a chance to get back to the terminal by bus if they expressed such a desire.
