According to Emirates confirmation the flight operated by Emirates was cancelled on Saturday. It was because of the technical issue of the aircraft.
The flight heading for Dubai from Toronto had to be cancelled and the passengers were provided with another plane as a substitution to get them to their destination. The replacement was provided the following day.
The cancellation of the flight impacted a lot of passengers. They were going to fly from Pearson International Airport 2.30pm local time.
The Airbus A380-800 was amid the flight, flew over Montreal and had to fly back to Toronto. It happened almost at once after the take-off.
An Emirates representative confirms that there were no injuries during the incident. The flight EK242 scheduled to fly from Toronto to Dubai landed safely in Toronto. The passengers and crew were out of danger. Moreover, they left the aircraft safely.
As the passengers had to wait for the following day to depart the airline company provided them with accommodation and food. They were assisted in dealing with the cancellation.
The travellers had to stay for a night at hotels. Emirates has apologized for the inconvenience caused but their passengers and crew’s safety is their top priority. So, they acted in the interests of their passengers’ safety.
