Travellers of the flight flying to LA experienced a delay. It was due to a twelve-year child who somehow succeeded in skipping airport security and getting on the aircraft. He did not have a boarding pass.
Now police at Heathrow Airport is investigating the matter attempting to figure out how it was possible for a child to do it. The child in question appeared to be on the flight BA269 operated by British Airways. The plane was scheduled to fly to Los Angeles on July, 14 at night.
The plane was getting ready for a departure when the cabin crew noticed the child unattended. They wanted to see his boarding pass in order to assist him to his seat.
Immediately after the incident occured police got on the aircraft together with the sniffer dogs. The travellers were required to leave the plane for another security check.
The passengers had to go through a several hour delay. According to The Telegraph it is highly possible that being a transit passenger the boy set his mind on checking how far he would manage to get without being stopped.
As police says the boy was found by the cabin crew during pre-flight checks. He was not British.
British Airways has apologized for the incident. As the company’s top priority is their passengers and crew’s safety they did extra precautionary screening when the boy was discovered.
