14-year-old boy assisted to wrong plane by United

Mistakes happen. But United Airlines now has troubles because of one. A minor was placed on the wrong international flight. The situation left the child’s parents really scared.

The boy’s mom, Brenda Berg, says that the situation with the wrong plane and destination required immediate actions of everybody. A fourteen-year-old boy was supposed to get to Sweden where his grandparents live. But something went wrong as the United Airlines workers assisted him at Newark Airport in New Jersey boarded him a wrong plane. It was a one-way flight to Dusseldorf, Germany.

Not intending to accompany the child his parents paid for a 150-dollar service for their son to be assisted at the airport and to the flight. As soon as Berg got on the plane operated by Scandinavian Airlines and heading for Dusseldorf he realized it to be a mistake. The plane was about to depart. So, he took an immediate action and informed his parents. Though they had got back their home in Raleigh, NY already.

The majority of passengers were speaking German and that puzzled the boy. His parents advised him to speak to the flight attendant. As a result, the plane had to get back to the terminal. Though, having missed his flight, Anton got safely to Sweden by another flight rebooked by United Airlines.

To make the things worse, the boy’s parents failed to contact the airline company to be aware of their son’s whereabouts. Moreover, even after the minor passenger was taken from the wrong plane, no one contacted his parents.

United Airlines refunded a 150-dollar service. The rep of the company says that the boy’s safety was their top priority. They were in touch with the family and rebooked a ticket. As soon as Eurowings realized the mistake and returned to the terminal the company’s employees assisted the boy to another plane.
