Flight 1266 operated by American Airlines made an emergency landing this morning. The landing was at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The flight was heading for Dallas Fort Worth.
According to the comments given by the spokesperson of the airport the landing was due to a flat tire and landing gear troubles which occurred when the plane took off.
As American Airlines reports the plane Boeing 737-800 jet took off from the airport at about 1 a. m. Then it had to circle around the airport to burn the fuel left. It had to do it for about an hour. Finally, it landed at 2.31 a.m. safely.
The flight was carrying 169 passengers and cabin crew on board. After landing all the passengers were safe and no injuries reported.
Thus, the situation was labeled with alert 2 which implies to set the airport fire department, Reno Fire Department and REMSA ready if an emergency situation happens.
The situation led to the close of runways at the airport. But later on, the airport processing was back to normal. Now passengers are experiencing no delays caused by the incident.
From the plane the travellers were taken to the terminal by bus. And American Airlines in its turn, was trying to book their customers other flights or provide them with rooms in hotels.
The plane in question is being inspected for figuring out the details of the incident.
