Beware of falling asleep when on board. It’s highly possible that you may be left all alone in the aircaft.
So, this is the very thing that happened to the passenger of Air Canada. Tiffani O’Brien could not resist falling asleep during her flight heading for Toronto.
But when she woke up she found herself in the middle of nowhere, in the complete darkness. The plane proved to be totally empty and it was midnight. Her flight had already landed. It took off from Quebec and landed long before.
Well, she could not believe the situation to be true. The passenger considered it to be a bad dream.
Air Canada is investigating the incident to find out how it was possible that a sleeping passenger had been left in the aircraft. The company confirmed the incident but refused to give any comments yet. As they are still looking into the situation and can provide no details yet.
The passenger had seat 32 A. That is the middle of the plane. As the flight was flying to its destination half full she had the whole row of seats to herself.
O’Brien was attempting use her cell phone to ask for help. Unfortunately, it ran out of charge while she was speaking to her friend. In the cockpit she made an attempt to use a radio but failed. It did not work.
Having found a flashlight, she was making SOS signals out of the windows hoping for rescue. It seemed not to work out as well.
On setting her mind to save herself on her own, she opened the plane door. When she opened it she saw how far the plane was parked from the airport.
Meanwhile, her friend called the airport to inform that her friend had been trapped in the plane. But someone on a luggage cart came to her rescue.
Air Canada has apologized for the inconvenience and is investigating the situation. Toronto Pearson International Airport claims to have nothing to do with it and says operational processes are of the complete airline’s responsibility.
