A passenger’s behaviour made the plane get back to the airport. Flying by Jet2 flight a woman was going to open the plane’s door. And she threatened to kill the rest of the passengers and cabin crew.
The plane got back to the UK airport. It happened in 45 minutes after its departure. It was heading for Dalaman, Turkey. RAF Typhoon fighter aeroplanes had to escort the plane back to the airport.
According to police, a 25-year-old passenger was removed from the flight and taken to police being charged with assault and endangering the passengers of the plane and its crew. It happened at 17.49 on Saturday.
The passengers say that the woman was obviously intoxicated. She got to the front part of the plane shouting and trying to open the door of the plane.
The flight attendants tried to calm her down but had to grab her to prevent her from opening the door. She began scratching and hitting them. Some of the passengers helped the cabin crew to hold her.
Though she was still trying to get to the door. So, the decision was made to return to Stansted for her to be taken to police.
The passengers were terrified because of such behaviour. And the consequences it could have led to.
Jet2 confirmed the incident. It is cooperating with the police for further investigation. Everything possible is done to get its passengers to their destinations as soon as possible.
