Pearson airport delays flights to U.S.

There were temporary delays for flights from Terminal 1 at Pearson International Airport, Toronto operating destinations to the U.S. It happened on early Saturday. It was done in the interests of safety.

Robin Smith, a media representative of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority says that delays were connected with the flights scheduled to fly to the U.S. from Terminal 1. They lasted about 45 minutes. The airport workers stopped checking in passengers and planes were halted to take off. The issued was connected with the departures level.

He adds that issue started at 9 a.m. but it was solved till 9.45 a.m. And the airport was back to its normal operation. Flights were resumed.
Peel Regional Police has an airport devision. It says that three people were not screened appropriately at U.S. customs. Thus, officers had to find the location of the people in question. They managed to do it at approximately 9.45 a.m.

Though the representative of Peel Regional Police, giving a comment on Saturday, says that the incident was not believed to be suspicious or a threat to public safety.

The police managed to locate the three. They were screened properly and now the problem is solved. So, it was some kind of misunderstanding. There were no charges filed. Passengers’ safety was not at risk.

The matter is that every passenger is required to be screened getting into the airport. And he/she has to be inspected. And while travelling to the U.S. a passenger has to be cleared by U.S. customs.
