Southwest Airlines extends Boeing flight cancellations

Southwest Airlines is making changes in its flight schedule due to Boeing 737 Max plane grounding. So, it has been decided that Southwest Airlines is suspending the operation of its Boeing 737 Max planes during the whole busiest tourists’ season.

The company has informed that it will not use its fleet of these planes and all the flights operated by them are cancelled till September, 2. The airline has a 34 plane fleet of the Boeing 737 Max. It has the biggest number than any other US airline company.

By doing so Southwest Airlines wants to avoid last minute cancelled flights. Thus, it is acting in its passengers’ interests in order not to cause inconveniences and not to spoil their plans.

The travellers who have bought tickets for flights operated by 737 Max planes will be notified. The company will try to solve the problem by suggesting alternative options. The decision implies the removal of 100 daily flights. The airline wants its customers to accept their apologies and it thanks them for understanding.

Southwest Airlines as well as other ones have to act taking into consideration the circumstances occurred. It is still no information on the fix of the 737 Max form Boeing. There was a decision to ground the plane in question due to two fatal crashes. Boeing needs to get approval from the FAA.
It is expected that Boeing will make up for the financial losses of airline companies.
