The flight operated by Air France<\/a> had to be diverted to Shannon Airport on October, 20 in the afternoon. It was a result of security alert which occurred amid the flight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The flight AF-136 was scheduled to fly from Paris to Chicago. But unattended cell phone was discovered on board. It had been flying for about two hours. But the pilot informed the air traffic controller of their decision to turn round to Shannon Airport<\/a> because of security interests.<\/p>\n

The pilot was allowed to divert the plane and land at Shannon Airport. The airport authorities were aware of the incident. It took place when the cell phone was noticed amid the flight and attempts to find an owner were proved to be unsuccessful. And nobody among the passengers claimed it to be theirs. Thus, the aircraft was diverted.<\/p>\n

The plane landed safely at 4.41 p.m. It was met and accompanied by airport fire brigade. They were called for as a precautious measure in view of the fact that the aircraft was making an overweight landing. The flight was taken to a distant taxiway where it was met by airport police.<\/p>\n

The cell phone in question was taken from the aircraft by the police. Afterwards, in the terminal it was scanned. As for the travelers they did not have to leave the plane.<\/p>\n

Now, it is believed that the cell phone could have been left onboard by a traveler from a previous flight. And it had not been found earlier while cleaning.<\/p>\n
