The airline company of Switzerland has made a decision to cancel approximately 50 flights as a result of grounding of the whole fleet of Airbus A 220. The three incidents occurred during the flight because of the failure of the engine. The planes operated by Swiss<\/a> were on route from Heathrow <\/a>to Geneva<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Swiss reports they are going to suspend flights operated by the jets in question during their coming inspections to figure out the issue. Consequently it will lead to inevitable flight cancellations.<\/p>\n

The flight cancellations concerns a few round-trip flights joining Geneva and Zurich and Heathrow. Swiss is considered to be the largest company which operates the aircraft in question. As it includes 29 ones of them in its fleet. Swiss launched their operation in July 2016.<\/p>\n

The incident with the engine failure took place on October, 15 amid the flight. The plane was supposed to fly from Heathrow to Geneva. And due to a technical issue it had to be diverted. It landed in Paris Charles de Gaulle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was not the first incident. There had been two more incidents before. The first was on July, 25 and the second on September, 16. They were operating Geneva and Heathrow destination.<\/p>\n

The issue in the above mentioned incidents is considered to be the low-pressure compressor rotor installed on the Pratt & Whitney engines.<\/p>\n
