Having headed to the airport gate, something seemed suspicious to Vincent Peone. It was quiet there and empty. He was scheduled to have his evening flight from Aspen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He is the Delta <\/a>Diamond Medallion-status flyer who is believed to be acquainted with a lot of airport employees by names. It proved to be every traveller\u2019s dream to have the whole aircraft to oneself.<\/p>\n

The so called private flight for Peone was operated by Sky West Airlines<\/a>. It is Delta’s regional affiliation. The plane was flying from Colorado <\/strong>to Salt Lake City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Having been accompanied to the carrier, he posed for a picture. Then he had his name checked. When he had a safety demonstration with empty rows around.<\/p>\n

The price for a similar private flight can start from $4,800. In the beginnig, the traveller says that not everything went according to his plans. He was supposed to fly in the morning. But there was a flight cancellation. So, the traveller booked for the flight in the evening instead.<\/p>\n

Having arrived he heard an announcement by the flight attendant. He was welcomed to get on the plane being the only traveller. A Delta\u2019s representative says that such flights are rare. Though, sometimes they happen.<\/p>\n

At first, it may seem just a waste of jet fuel. But in fact this plane would have took off anyway as it was used for other destinations out of the airline\u2019s Salt Lake City hub.<\/p>\n

It goes without saying that to operate such flights cost thousands of dollars in terms of fuel and pilots. But taking into consideration Delta\u2019s flight schedule the expenses of cancelled flights would have been much more significant.<\/p>\n
