A passenger was going to fly home from The Dominican Republic when he was asked to get off the plane. It was due to his health condition. He was feeling bad sweating excessively and vomiting in the bathroom. <\/p>\n
He was taken to hospital but died. As a result, he became the ninth U.S. citizen to have died in the Dominican Republic. The circumstances of his death are not known. And which airline refused him is still unclear.<\/p>\n
But can airlines make a decision whether allow or not allow a passenger fly?<\/p>\n
A representative of a consumer advocacy organization says it is up to a captain to decide. Moreover, airlines have medical consultants who can help to decide if a passenger can fly. <\/p>\n
Sick passengers may face several cases. If they show up they might be not allowed on board. As well as, they might be charged extra fees.
\nAccording to the rules of the majority of airlines it is forbidden to fly with contagious diseases, for example, chicken pox, measles.<\/p>\n
For instance, American Airlines<\/a> warns that it is up to the company to decide whether to let a sick person fly or not. <\/p>\n
