It is happening due to the order brought out by Donald Trump. According to it this technology is prohibited to be applied in US airports. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Activists who stand for privacy rights have launched a tool. It offers assistance in avoiding facial recognition technologies in airports. The matter is that they question data security.<\/p>\n<p>These activists have introduced a sited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airlineprivacy.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">AirlinePrivacy.com<\/a>. Its aim is to show passengers which airlines stick to this technology to verify their identity before boarding. And it may help passengers to book flights for airlines without facial recognition. <\/p>\n<p>But there are supporters of the use of this technology. This technology implies verification via scanning passengers\u2019 faces and sending data to the border control. Together with federal agencies, <a href=\"https:\/\/flyings.net\/airline\/B6\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">JetBlue<\/a> has been using this technology since 2017. <\/p>\n<p>Airlines do insist on not keeping passengers\u2019 information. But they share it with federal agencies and they can store it.<\/p>\n<p>It is up to a passenger to whether to use biometric boarding program or a boarding pass. But most passengers are not aware that they have the right to refuse the application of facial recognition. Because in most cases passengers are not asked and the technology is automatically applied. <\/p>\n<p>Activists believe it to be not such an inconvenience but an intrusion into people\u2019s privacy.
