American Airlines is filing a lawsuit against the workers. The reason for it that they are convinced they are to be blamed for slowing down the working process. And this action is completely illegal.<\/em> <\/p>\n

The Airline accuses its union workers of doing so because of their desire to receive a concession agreement<\/strong> during contract negotiations. The airline requires the federal court to solve the matter and to stop this illegal activity. But the union workers call the accusations to be ungrounded. <\/p>\n

Acting in the interests of travelling public, American Airlines<\/a> sues the union with reference to the Railway Labour Act. According to which airline workers cannot change their regular behaviour to prevent normal operations and take advantage of it while conducting contract negotiations.<\/p>\n

American Airlines claims to have enough both expert statistical data and anecdotal evidence to prove the union itself and its workers to join an illegal slowdown intentionally. <\/p>\n

According to the filed lawsuit during the period of February, 4 and May, 13, 2019 union\u2019s intended slowdown lead to 664 cancellations of flights<\/strong> and consequently two hour or more delays influencing the trips of more than than 125.000 travellers. <\/p>\n

Mechanics are blamed for intentional long time repairing of aircraft and refusal of overtime work. They are believed to be encouraged by the union. And those who have agreed to work extra hours received threats. <\/p>\n

But the representative of Transport Workers Union dismisses all the allegations<\/strong>. They are claimed to be groundless. American Airlines is just trying to dislocate maintenance jobs outside the USA. It will lead to 6,000 mechanics jobs loss. So, the union is standing for workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n
