Delta considers it to be their top priority to provide their passengers with lots of different entertainment onboard. To implement it they will provide their clients with a possibility to use the Internet during flights. The option is to start in May, 13 and moreover, it is going to be free of charge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But first, Delta<\/a> plans to test it on selected short, medium and long distance routes and that is about 55 domestic flights. It is their first move on the way of implementing the offer of free Wi-Fi onboard.<\/p>\n

The Internet is an essential part of everyday life as well as travelling. Travellers surf the Internet having possibilities to access free Wi-Fi at hotels, airports etc. That is why Delta considers it to be of high importance to make free Wi-Fi available to their customer in the sky too. It will take some time and investment to make it work out. But testing is sure to help to make it possible and right.<\/p>\n

So far this option will have certain restrictions such as impossibility to stream content. But passengers will be able to surf, do online shopping, use social networks, email and what is really important \u2013 all free of charge.<\/p>\n

How will it work?<\/h2>\n

Delta’s pilot on selected domestic flights operated by aircraft equipped with high-speed 2Ku Wi-Fi aims for finding out weaknesses and checking performance of the system. Moreover, they want to analyze their customer\u2019s preferences and get feedback to meet their expectation and satisfy their needs. <\/p>\n

It is highly possible that the whole process will take certain time and phases before bringing it to life fully and enabling Delta to guarantee the service of the best value.<\/p>\n

Pilot flights with Wi-Fi will be different each day that is why passengers will receive notifications via emails informing them about the possibility to use Wi-Fi onboard.<\/p>\n

Currently, Wi-Fi is ensured by Delta on almost all domestic and international flights. 60 per cent of aircraft are equipped with high-speed 2Ku. Wi-Fi requiring payment and free cell phone messages are still accessible.<\/p>\n
